Hello everyone! As we get closer to the first alpha, I wanted to post an update of the progress that's been done this week. We have been working on a few things this week and as you can see by the picture above, there is more than just progress on Silver Springs.

  • • Small props (Silver Springs) - I have been actively adding props to Silver Springs to add more realism than just the buildings and roads. Telephone poles have been added as well as a car wreck into one of them. Wires still need added to these poles but it's coming along nicely. I've also begun adding trash cans, trash bags and dumpsters around the towns. While this work seems like it would be easy to finish in an afternoon, the tedious nature of adding them as well as building a more realistic experience for you, the player is making this a longer task. I want to maintain the realism but also make sure players don't get stuck or have some weird views of the town.

  • • Plane Crash Site - This has been planned since the project was originally built in Unity back in September of 2019 (screenshot of the original outline is available on Discord). The plane crash has been something I've drawn out many many times. The current one is still an outline and more wreckage will be added over time but I feel it's a good start. Players can expect a variety of loot to spawn here.

  • • Character Animations - BlackWolf has been hard at work on starting the character animations to go with the first player model that will be a choice in the game. He has added basic movements for now. He has been streaming the animation making live on Discord along with being in voice chat so the community can watch how things are being made and have direct input on what the like or don't like as well as give suggestions. Please note that any animations you see in the Discord Live may not reflect the final versions as they are going to be constantly refined and tweaked to maximum performance.

We have a lot of things planned that are to come over the next couple of weeks including the rough draft of the player HUD, player inventory, ADS and PvP.

I also want to take a moment to mention a new addition to the website. While we are a self funded project, we are branching out to our community to have a more direct input into the game. Our new pledge store is now online with several tiers of rewards to the players. This is an ongoing feature and new tiers and addon packages will be available over time. While we will never ask for donations towards the development, we felt that this was a great new way for the community to get involved with actual rewards in the release of the game. We invite everyone to check out the site and see everything we offer... but remember to check back often as we will be continually adding items as development progresses. We want everyone interested in Ashes of Eden to be able to have the opportunity to contribute to the game. As I have stated from day one, this game is being built with the community involved and we will show that as much as we can.
